And we're back! Er, not really sure why I said that. Anyhoo, for this, the first Scriptage of March, I've choosen an easy breezy 2 page excerpt from one of my favorite cocreations, The Twins Chronicles! Cocreated with long time collaborator Marco Dileonardo, the Twins have appeared in their own web strip, various anthologies, and a graphic novel of their very own. These guys represent me and Marco pretty perfectly and we can't wait to finally give them their due sometime soon.
For those that don't know, The Twins Chronicles follows the misadventures of Scotty and Albert, dysfunctional twin hitmen who aren't picky in their prey. The latest incarnation of the story has them hunting down heroes and villians alike, and in this selection they are hot on the trail of The Manx! Since I know Marco knows the ins and outs of these characters like the back of his hand I usually get real loose with the scripts so he can go nuts.
Right before this scene a mounted police officer was hot on the trail of the ATV riding Twins who were after the fleet footed Manx!
THE TWINS CHRONICLES: MANX ALOT!

8.1: Scotty looks away in horror as the horse and cop crash off panel. Al looks unfazed.
SFX: CRUNCH! RAHHKOOM!
SFX: REHHN!!!
SCOTTY: OUCH!
AL: THAT SOUNDED PAINFUL.
8.2: The Manx runs into the park's zoo.
8.3: The Twins skid out in front of the zoo gates.
8.4: Cocking their guns The Twins walk into the zoo.
SCOTTY: I LOVE THE ZOO!
AL: WELL YOU'RE CERTAINLY DRESSED FOR IT.
8.5: A woman staffer comes running up to them.
WOMAN: WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR'E DOING IN HERE WITH THOSE THINGS?
8.6: And she points at Scotty's garb. Al gets a chuckle out of this.
WOMAN: DRESSED LIKE THAT?!

9.1: Scotty grabs the woman as she screams.
WOMAN: SECURITY!
SCOTTY: NOT SO NICE, MY DEAR.
9.2: And kisses her passionately.
9.3: Then drops her hard onto the floor knocking her out.
9.4: Scotty catches up to Albert, who looks proud of his brother.
AL: NICE TOUCH.
SCOTTY: WE BETTER MAKE THIS QUICK.
AL: AGREED.
9.5: They stop in the middle of one of those zoo forks in the road with a sign behind them pointing out different parts of the park.
AL: SO WHERE WOULD YOU GO IF YOU WERE HALF MAN, HALF CAT?
9.6: Scotty point to the sign and the drawing of Tiger Hill on it.
SCOTTY: HERE OF COURSE!
