-Providence is a pretty cool city. Me and Marilyn took a little roadtrip yesterday for her birthday and we had a nice time. We hit the RISD Mueseum, Bert Gallery, Federal Hill, many cute shops, ate lunch at Olga's Cup and Saucer, and finished with dinner at the famous Al Forno Restaurant. My favorite part was going to this little cheese shop called Farmstead. Excellent Bree and Banana loaf! (yeah I'm a foodie, I admit it)
-Comics to get today include Pirates of Coney Island #4, Borderline Vol. 1, Mighty Skullboy Army Vol. 1, Gyakushu Vol. 1 and of course Manga for Dummies. Pirates is a cool Coney Island book by friends Rick Spears and Vasilus Lolos. Borderline is by Carlos Trillo and Eduardo Risso, who are world famous, and the translation is by pal Ivan Brandon. Skullboy and Gyakushu both just look really cool and fun and I'm getting them. And Manga for Dummies, which was officially released Monday but is in comic stores today, well scroll down a little to find out why. Here's previews for Borderline and Gyakushu.
-Sadly, I haveta report I won't be going to the Morricone Festival today as originally planned. I know, you're all bummed that we can't meet up and watch A Fistful of Dollars and Navajo Joe together. I really wanted to catch Fistful on the big screen, but I have way too much work to catch up on and no more days off this week after today. But please go ahead and watch these two, there's still time as the next Fistful starts at 7:30pm, followed by Navajo Joe at 9:30pm!
-Speaking of Morricone, did you know he did the music for John Carpenter's The Thing?! I'm listening to it right now courtesy of Morricone expert Anthony Patrizio. The man has done over 400 soundtracks! Check out his IMDB listing!
-I've updated my Comic Space profile abit, check it out!http://www.comicspace.com/salcipriano/
-Good news about The Hill came to me today, but I'll have more on this soon as it develops.
That's the news and I am outta here!
